You are recording lovely little snippets during sessions. You can see how powerful video could be. You just need the editing bit.
This isn’t about complicated colour grading or becoming a full-time video editor – I’m always here for the photographers who are adding video in and it’s the same for editing. It’s about learning just enough editing to bring your footage together into something that feels like a final product. Maybe you want to make newborn film, small promos, edit up talking heads and simple social media content.
Editing video isn’t as different as you think – if you can edit pictures, you can edit video, you just need someone to show you.

This is an introduction to baisc video editing, yet at the end you will be able to put a simple film together. I will show you my work flow from culling footage through to building the film, tweaking colours, stabilizing and exporting the final film out. We will of course be adding music, logo and text too.
We will also have a look at some ideas for social media editing.
The skills you learn can be used for editing your own video content or for editing paid vido content for clients.

This will be the first time I deliver this editing as a stand alone module online, but I have been delivering this training for quite a few years now as part of my training programmes. QUESTIONS?
Do I need to have any video experience to join?
Not at all. This workshop is designed for photographers who are complete beginners or who might have dabbled but don’t feel confident putting their footage together into something that feels like a final product, like a short film.
What software will I need?
I will be showing you how to edit in Davinci Resolve using features available in the free version, so go right ahead and download that – no cost.
Will there be a replay?
Yes, you will have access to the re-play for 6 months. It will be hosted on my online training plat form.
Will I be able to make a film by the end?
Yes absolutely. You’ll learn how to put a short film together, including how to ad music, logo and text. We will also cover how you edit upright videos for reels and stories.
